Connecting at The Eroles Project in 2016 (in the immediate aftermath of the EU in-out referendum) Jessie Jacobs (political activist) and Andrew Wilson (artist) returned to North-East England with an allegiance to create a new tabloid newspaper.

Northern England

Unlike any other, this co-owned newspaper will challenge the overwhelmingly divisive tone of mainstream media by merging community action with grass-roots journalism to challenge the powerful and champion the powerless.

In October 2016 Jessie and Andrew publicly shared their aspirations with an event hosted by Hidden Civil War in Newcastle upon Tyne. Since then they have secured a research and development budget to explore organisation/funding models and begin to develop a supportive community via face-to-face conversations and skill sharing workshops. They hope to launch both online and in print later in 2017. Watch this space!

If you could support in any way, or would like to get involved, Jessie and Andrew would love to hear from you.
